Pay Per Click Ads

In the work of creating your online busines, there are many things to consider. One of them is your marketing strategy and how your going to turn your traffic into dollars once you get visitors on your sites.

Pay per click ads are a simple and popular way to add money making potential on your webistes.

What is it?

Pay per click adds are commonly a program offered by your first tier search engine such as Google and Bing. These ads are a series of unique code that you will add to areas of your choosing on your site. The uniqe code is specific to your account so that the program your using can track the clicks that occur on your site. Side bar and header and footers are more common place for the ads, but you can also integrate them into your content.

If you decide to intregrate them into your content be aware of how they may be precieved form your readers, you dont want the over use of ads cause them to loose interest in your site and leave. And although the use of ads can be benificial for your money making potential, if your site comes across as one big ad it can negitivly effect your rankings on the search engines.

The idea of pay per click ads is to pay the website owner for clicks on the ads posted on their sites. The amount of money you get for each click can very from $0.01 to $2-3. How much you get is determind by how much the advertising company is willing to pay for the clicks on their ads. A portion will go to Google or Bing, and the rest will go to you.

The example I have here is a Google AdSense ad added to the footer of the website, the ad is different to everyone who visits the site. Google chooses ads based on the key words serached by the user, and therefore displays ads that would create interest to the visitors on your site.

How do you use it?

First you need an account, as mentioned before you can choose to use Google AdSence, or Bing, which are of the more popular. Once you have chosen which platform you want to use and have created your account, you will have acces to a variety of different trypes of code that can be inserted in different places on your site to dispay the ads.

Very important tip before you start… Make sure your add blocker isnt activated, if it is, you will not be able to see the ads that you added to your site, and may think it isnt working or you did somthing wrong.

As mentioned previously, you can choose to put a text box into your side bar or footer, depending on the theme you have on your website and the ability to place them there. In the text box you will place the codes given to you and save it. When you go back to your main page on your website you will shortly see your ads become active and show as a perminent banner wherever you have placed it.

There are lots of great tips and help offered by the platforms you create your account with, if you are stuck answers are not hard to come by. You can also leave a comment below and Ill try to assist you as much as I can.

Google AdSence

Google AdSence is one of the platforms available to you when choosing to use pay per click ads. Once you have an account you will have a dashboard where you can get daily updates on how your site is doing. You can even track multiple sites from here if you have them.

The dashborad is full of great information about how your ads are doing. You can track how much money you get each day from the ads, and comparisons on how it is doing compared to previous days. Lots of great things.

You can create a variety of different ad types for the different locations you may want them to appear on your websites. A custom code is created from what you choose and it is kept as a template for future use on the same site or other sites you have on your AdSense account.

I have used this platform myself and as someone who didnt know anything about this when I started I found it very user friendly and easy to follow. Thank goodness, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed when I first started.

Is there a downside?

Pay per click ads and the money they generate are dependant on the traffic you are able to bring to your site. Because of this it can be a slow climb 5 cents at a time as you start to get traffic and rankings on your content. That being said, the ads that show up on your site are meant to attract your visitors, so once you are abel to generate a steady flow of traffic you will start to see an increase in pay per click income.

Ad blockers is another challenege with pay per click ads. If the user has their ad blocker activated your ads will not show up on your site when they are visiting it. And the obvious result is no income potential from that user if your sole income stratagy is the use of ads on your site.

Diversity is recommended when creating your business plan for your websites. A variety of ads and the use of affiliate links startegically placed within your site and content will offer you better chances of creating income and building a stronger business.

Get excited and get at it, success is around the corner…
