Choosing the Perfect Niche

So you decided you want to start your own online business, you my have checked out My.wealthyaffiliate.com, and now your wondering what the heck am I going to write about?

Don’t worry you are not alone. Many people starting out in the online world have asked themselves the same question, including myself.

When I started my first website I was like you, trying to put ideas together and pick the perfect niche. After hours of research and thinking in circles I decided to start with something I’m passionate about. For me that passion was interior design. I started to create a list of all the things I could write about related to interior design, and I was shocked at how long my list was. It was then that I knew I chose the right thing. After that I was off,  I went and bought my domain and started to build my website Impressionsdecoranddesign.com. I was so excited, and from that excitement came more ideas, and before I new it I had created something I was really proud of.

The point is, you can write about absolutely anything. You can choose any topic to be your niche. Any interest or passion you have can be turned into a website that you can use to generate income. The founder of Wealthy Affiliate Kyle did  a great video on this topic ( Choosing your direction  – it starts with a niche ). It is really that simple, just choose something your are passionate about and share that passion with people.

One more thing to keep in mind. When your passionate about something, people will be able to sense it in your words and your work on your site. That passion will speak volumes and make your site an authority note on the topic. The other side to that, you will be spending a lot of time researching and writing about the niche your choose, you just might want to love the niche so that building the site doesn’t feel like work all the time.
